Before I ever heard of Katie Price, I had heard of 'Jordan', the
party-going Glamour Girl, with the breast Implants who was
becoming more well-known by the second. She was notorious, you
would constantly see candid shots of her coming out of parties
clearly having drunk too much. She was the wild girl the press
just couldn't get enough of, and she was about to become hugely
successful.
It was suggested that Katie should not use her own name, and
someone in the Office at the time suggested 'Jordan' as she was
a racing fan and that was where the name originated.. Katie
loved it and so a legend was born. She was soon on Page 3 of The
Sun, doing the topless shots, and becoming increasingly popular.
But it was her breast enlargement that put that to a stop.
It wasn't the end for Jordan though as she went on to pose for
Playboy among others.. These days, Katie insists that her
alter-ego is not gone.. but that it wouldn't make sense for her
to be doing the glamour modelling at this time.
The following is some Jordan trivia you may not know:
◊ Jordan was one of British tabloid The Sun's most popular Page
Three girls until readers voted Page Three girls should only be
'natural', no implants. The Sun also ran a readers vote to
decide if Jordan should get her second breast implant. They
voted no, but she opted for the operation anyway, partly because
they had already voted her off the page due to the 'real or
fake' vote before.
◊ Jordan appeared in six volumes of Playboy's Book of Lingerie
from 1997 to 1999.
◊ Jordan has also appeared on the covers of FHM, Maxim, Nuts,
Front, Zoo Weekly, Sky, Esquire, Loaded and Ice magazines.
◊ In 2002, she was shooting a cover to run in Playboy when Hugh
Hefner invited her to spend three weeks at his mansion. She
appeared at a number of promotional events for the similarly
named Jordan Grand Prix Formula One team during this time,
during a period when they were heavily promoting themselves to
the youth market.
◊ In December 2005 she released the best selling fitness DVD
The Jordan Workout featuring 'The Juice Master' Jason Vale.
◊In 2006 the 'Jordan At Asda' jewellery range was launched, as
well as a follow-up jewellery deal with Argos.
